There are a lot of marketing emails that are sent out each and every hour in this country. If you dont believe it, look at the length of time it takes your auto responder to send your own marketing emails.
Sometimes it takes only a few minutes but sometimes it takes several hours for the autoresponder to get around to sending your marketing email to your list. Thats because it is sending marketing emails for other companies and yours just has to get in line and wait its turn.
For this very reason you need to be sure that you are making your marketing emails as good and as effective as they can possibly be.
1. Address the recipient by their name. If you send marketing emails that start out, Dear Friend you are wasting time and energy. These emails will be deleted without being opened, read or acted upon.
2. Double and triple check spelling and grammar. Misspelled words and poor grammar will make you look dumb . . . and nobody is going to buy products from marketers who cant spell and dont know how to use words correctly.
3. Sell only one product per email message. Emails that dont focus on only one topic will be ineffective. You need to concentrate on one subject at a time.
4. Good marketing emails do not ever contain word-wrapped links. All email programs do not deliver email with clickable links. Word-wrapped links will not appear as links but only as words in a plain text format.
5. Good marketing emails do not arrive too often in the same inboxes. The members of your opt-in list gave you permission to email them but not to drown them in advertising. Restrain yourself.
6. All good marketing emails are formatted correctly so that recipients can read them easily. They all contain lines that are no longer than 65 characters and use only ASCII type.

Email Marketers Use Their List to Build Their List
Have you ever noticed that people love to share information with others? Knowing something that somebody else needs to know makes a person feel better about themselves. It gives them self-confidence. They think it makes the person that they share information with think that they are smart and in the know.
Listen to any conversation between neighbours and you will hear them exchanging information about who is the best plumber in town or where the best beauty shop or barber shop is located.
Its human nature and a human trait that savvy email marketers can take full advantage of.
Entice, encourage, and persuade the members of your opt-in list to share your marketing emails or newsletters with their friends, families and co-workers. There are some fairly simple ways to do this.
1. In your newsletter include a coupon for dollars off on an incoming product and tell your list that they will honor the coupon when it is presented by them, as well as, by anybody that they share it with.
2. Include a free gift that the members of your list can share with their friends, families and co-workers. Be certain that the gift can only be downloaded from your website.
3. Send your list a quiz that in some way related to the topic they are most interested in. Encourage them to share the quiz with others and post the answers to the quiz on your website.
Each time someone visits your website you have the opportunity to encourage them to opt-in to your list.
Each time one person opts into your list, you then have an opportunity to get everyone that they know to opt into your list if they can encourage them to share information . . . and they love to share information.

Email Marketers and Joint Venture Give a Ways
Do you know what a joint venture give-a-way is? It is when a group of marketers get together and offer a variety of free gifts to their lists. The offers are usually for very different kinds of things.
For example: there may be an offer for a free ebook on gardening, one for dog care and one for effective email marketing all in the same package, as well as, many other things. The theory behind this kind of joint venture give-a-way is that people who belong to one mailing list may well be interested in products or services that are completely unrelated to the topic of the list that they subscribe to.
People who are interested and invested in email marketing also have kids, pets, hobbies, etc. People are not just one dimensional and savvy marketers have discovered that all members of a joint give-a-way stand an equal opportunity to increase their opt-in lists.
These joint venture give-a-ways most often happen between October and mid-December but they happen at other times of the year as well.
To find joint venture give-a-ways that you might profit from, use your favourite search engines to search for them. You will find at least a few that you may want to participate in.
You will need to have a product that you can give away for free and it needs to be downloadable from your website. In order to download the free gift, the surfer will need to provide his name and email address to you.
Every partner in a joint venture give-a-way sends out the same package offer of the many and varied products in the give-a-way to their own lists so each member has a shot at gaining members of others lists to join their own lists. Its a great list building tactic that is often overlooked.

A Teleseminar for the Email Marketer
Teleseminars are big business on the Internet. There are hundreds of teleseminars held everyday on every topic that one can imagine. Attendance at a teleseminar can be anywhere from a few dollars to hundreds of dollars depending upon the topic and the speakers.
Some think a teleseminar is difficult to pull off and a very expensive proposition to boot. Neither of those assumptions are accurate.
Actually a teleseminar is one of the cheapest of products that can be produced and sold on the internet and all that is really required is a bridge line, a subject and one or more speakers who are well versed on the topic to be discussed.
If you want a recording of the teleseminar that costs extra and if you want a transcript of the call, that is an extra cost as well.
But both the recording and a transcript can become products that can be sold. Marketing a teleseminar to an email marketing opt-in list takes some planning.
The first thing is, you dont want to blind side your recipients by announcing a teleseminar that will take place the same day that they first hear about it from you. You need to prepare your opt-in list for the upcoming event and give them ample notice of the date, the time, the topic and who the speakers will be. Three or even four prior notice emails are not too many.
People will need time to free up their time in order to attend. They will need more than one opportunity to pre-register for the event.
The other thing that is needed for a teleseminar is a good detailed outline of the topic to be discussed and the order in which points will be discussed. Copies of this outline need to be provided to all speakers, hosts, and narrators of the teleseminar well in advance of the event.

Email Marketing Permission Granted
Have you noticed that you get a lot less SPAM now than you used to get? Not that you dont get any, we all get some, but there is so much less of it now than there used to be. Your potential customers are getting less SPAM as well. There are two very good reasons for this reduction of SPAM that appears in everybody's boxes.
One reason is that email filters are just much better than they were a few years ago. Many programs now allow users to choose which emails are delivered to their inboxes and which ones are sent straight to the deleted email file. Some email programs deliver only email that is from senders who have been added to a white list.
The other, and probably the most important reason, is that the Congress made it illegal to send SPAM when they enacted the CAN SPAM ACT in 2003. The CAN SPAM ACT became law in January of 2004. This act makes it illegal to send unsolicited bulk email and put an end to a great deal of the SPAM that Americans are getting.
Email marketers are obliged to get permission to send marketing emails to people so the opt-in list was created.
Today sending bulk marketing emails will get you into a lot of hot water and cost you many thousands of dollars if you are caught doing it. The fines can be as high as $11,000 per bulk email sent that was unsolicited.
Email marketers must have permission to send marketing emails. This is simply a matter of getting people to sign into an opt-in list. The other half of the problem is to get them to add your email address to their white list in their email programs.

Email Marketing Growing Pains
Do you remember when you were a child and you hit a growing spurt? It was downright painful.
Your joints hurt, remember ? These episodes were referred to as growing pains. They were nothing to be concerned about. They were simply the inevitable discomfort of maturing.
When email marketing was in its infancy, everbody could simply email everybody else. There were no restrictions. Once a marketer had an email address he could just send all of the marketing emails he wished to. The recipients could like it or lump it. Email marketing was growing and that growth produced a lot of pain and discomfort for a lot of people.
The growth of email marketing became too painful to so many that the Congress of the United States had to act . . . and it took an act of Congress to contain the problem. The CAN SPAM ACT was passed by Congress in 2003 and became law in 2004.
With the passage of this act it became necessary for email marketers to get permission of recipients of their marketing email messages to send to them.
Today opt-in lists are the life blood of all legitimate email marketers. Building an opt-in list is the number one and constantly on-going task for all of them. List building is probably the single most discussed and written about subject among email marketers today.
The autoresponders provide code for putting opt-in boxes on websites. All of them do that.
Getting an opt-in box on a website is one of the simplest things that a website owner or email marketer does. Opt-in boxes should always be placed above the scroll line and there should be an opt-in box on every single page of a website.
List building must come first and the goal of a large and impressive opt-in list must be pursued daily by legitimate email marketers.

Ghostly Help for Email Marketers
Time ! It is one of the most precious of all commodities. It cant be bought or sold. We all get the same amount each day. How we use that time will determine how successful (or unsuccessful)we become.
Email marketing is filled with time consuming tasks each day. If we could buy an extra hour, we would at almost any price. The number one time consuming task that every email marketer is faced with day in and day out is list building. Without opt-in lists, we dont have a business and building those lists means that we have to do many time consuming things.
Cheer up ! There is help available. While you cant exactly buy an extra hour, you can get more people to contribute work within the hours that already exists. You will find many services listed on the Internet for ghost writers, as well as, for article submission companies.
These services can help you do some of the more time consuming tasks associated with list building like writing and submitting articles and ebooks to repositories and banks.
You can hire ghost writers to write articles and ebooks for you at a very reasonable cost. Professional writers do the writing and you pay for them and legally claim authorship of those articles and ebooks. The usual going rate for a 300-400 word article is between $6 and $8 per article.
You can have other people submit your articles and ebooks to banks and repositories for you. The usual rate for submission varies greatly between companies. You can also have ghost writers write your blog and forum posts for you. This can save you many hours each and every week. Blog and forum posting rates vary. They are based on time needed and sometimes by the topic.
You dont have to worry about list buiding, so take a look at these site to find the business you are interested in:>>> http://homeincomeportal.com/tiatan787

Email Marketing Newsletters
If you are an email marketer and have not as yet started sending out newsletters to your lists, you need to get started doing that very thing and you need to start as soon as possibly can.
You will find that by perodically sending out a newsletter . . . as opposed to a marketing email, you will be able to increase your conversion rate by a considerable percentage.
Marketing emails are sent for the sole purposes of supplying information and promoting goodwill. Do not confuse the two . . . they are completely different.
1. A newsletter should include helpful and timely information. You should never include information about your business or your employees.
2. Make your newsletter a two-way conversation. Include a quiz (answers on your website), or a single opinion based question that you can compile answers to and post results on your website. Give customers a voice!
3. You can include advertisements for products but only for the ones that you are providing other information about. The advertisements shouldnt be intrusive, however. Place them between paragraphs of your newsletters and, of course, make certain that the links work.
4. Occasionally give away something free, People really do love getting gifts. Always be sure that they must go to your website in order to get whatever the free gift is that you are offering.
If you give opt-in list members the opportunity to share a free gift with their friends, you can use your newsletter to help build your list.
5. Dont forget to track your newsletter in the same way that you track your marketing emails. The information that you gather by tracking can help you to improve your next newsletter and help to improve your over-all conversion rate.

Ebooks and Email Marketing
Ebooks are the darlings of email marketing world today. They can be sold as stand-alone products, they can be used as opt-in incentives, they can be used as free gifts or incentives for other products or services or they can be bundled and sold with other products and services to simply enhanced the total value.
There are so many uses for ebooks of all lengths in today's email marketing universe. Writing and marketing ebooks for the purpose of enhancing an opt-in list is most certainly one of the uses of ebooks. Short ebooks that are only 10 to 12 pages long can be written easily and submitted to ebook repositories for other website owners or ezine publishers to reproduce.
Your website address should be on each and every page of a marketed ebook as well as in the resource box on the last page.
Website owners and ezine publishers can reproduce your eb0ok but they are required to reproduce it unchanged and they must include your resource box with any reproduction.
Its a great way to build an opt-in list and let others advertise for you at no charge. Short ebooks can also be included in bundled products and they can be used as free gifts.
To market an ebook as a stand-alone product, however, the ebook needs to be considerably longer. This isnt a written rule anywhere but the general concensus is that you can charge about $1 per 2 pages for an ebook. So if you want to charge $50 that means that the ebook needs to be about 100 pages long.
If you dont fancy yourself a writer, you can have ebooks written for you by ghost writers. You pay the ghost writer a one time charge for the work then it becomes yours. You can legally claim authorship of the work and sell it as your own.

B2B Email Marketing
B2B (Business to Business) email marketing is a bit different than B2C (Business to Customer) email marketing. If your email marketing business focuses on products and services that are only of interest to other Internet marketers or other online businesses, you need to be certain that you are not over-doing your email marketing letters.
Business oriented people see email marketing as a tool that can be useful but can also become not useful and even intrusive. People who are operating businesses online are extremely busy people.
Each day their email inboxes are full to the point of overflow. They have a monstrous number of requests and demands on their time, effort and energy. The marketing emails that you send to those who own their own Internet businesses or who work as purchasing agents for online businesses will not be amused if you send them long epistles extolling the advantages of a product.
They will even be less amused if you send these long emails everyday or more than once a day. These business people do know how to find the opt-out button and they will find it and use it.
Marketing emails that are sent to online businesses need to be extremely short . . . no more than 200 words. They need to make the point quickly and they need to be very easy for the recipient to SCAN . . . they will not be read . . . they will just be scanned.
Use bullet points. Make your case for their need to buy your product and how it can save them time, effort, energy or make their jobs easier in some way.
How your product can increase sales for the company they represent or increase sales of the products they sell themselves will also be noticed and possibly acted upon. All others will be deleted.

Conversion Rate Improvement Strategies
When you send out a marketing email do you track it? Do you track it in real-time? Are you making note of the open-rate and the link-click rate? If you werent doing those things then you need to start and you need to start yesterday!
Are you sending the same marketing email to your entire list ? Is there just one email you send and it goes to every name on your list no matter what their age or reasons for buying the product might be? If you are doing that, you need to stop and you need to stop yesterday!
Behind each and every name and email address on your mailing list is a real live person. You will have people of different ages and who are at different points in their lives.
For example, you may have young mothers with small children, middle aged men or women who have been the victims of company down-sizing, as well as, older people who have retired from their professional lives.
Each of these groups of people may be interested in buying the product that you are promoting but they will be interested for different reasons. Maybe your product will save time.
That point will be important to both the young mothers and the middle aged people but it wont matter much to the older people. Maybe it has features that are interesting and useful.
Interesting and useful will be the main selling point for older people. Direct your message to the hearts and minds of the individuals you are selling to.
Track each and every email marketing campaign. Find out what is working, as well as, what isnt working. It could be that when you send out a marketing email there are many link-clicks.
That will be one that worked. It could also be that when you send out a marketing email you have a larger than usual opt-in rate. Dont do that one again.

Email Marketing Signature Tags

It is so strange but there are email marketers out there who have never given any serious thought to the signature that appears below all of their email correspondence including the marketing emails that they send out to their lists.
Otherwise very savvy and even successful email marketers simply overlook the importance of their signature file.
The signature file that you insert at the bottom of all correspondence is the very essence of your business. After your logo or heading that appears at the top of your correspondence, the signature is the next time that you get to say who you are and what your business is.
Your signature doesnt need to be added to the bottom of email that you send to customers, potential customers, suppliers, colleagues, media contacts, or potential joint venture partners just as an after thought.
Your signature file should have about six lines in it.It needs to say something important or even descriptive about you and your business to the recipients of your email messages, as well as, provide information.
These six lines should contain your name of course . . . after all it is a signature. Below your name there should be the name of your business. There should also be links to your website and you need to double and triple check that these lines actually work.
After sending hundreds or even thousands of emails, it is a bit shocking to find out that there is an error in your link and it doesnt even work.
A motto or a statement about your business should always be in your signature file. "Your needs are our business " or something similar will do.
Your signature should be separated from the body of the email be a single line like (-------) or double line like (======). This break line needs to appear both above and below your signature lines.

Effective Email Marketing

Before we go into the above topic I would like you to enjoy and admire more pictures.
There is a lot of email marketing done everyday but not a lot of it is effective email marketing. Anybody who can manage to build a list . . . or buy a list can send marketing emails. Just because marketing emails are sent doesnt mean that the email marketer is going to actually make any sales.
There are those naive souls who believe that they can buy a list for just a few dollars , get a free autoresponder and, presto, be in business as an email marketer. If only it were that simple!
First . . . effective email marketing lists are built . . . not bought. It takes time, effort, energy and know-how to build one. Effective lists arent for sale at any price.
Opt-in lists that are actually made up of the names and addresses of those people who are likely to buy whatever it is that you are selling are built using proven list building techniques.
None of these techniques are easy or fast but all of them serve to build effective email marketing opt-in lists.
Second . . . Free autoresponders will not be helpful. The free autoresponder services will usually only allow you one autoresponder, they usually do not include a personalization feature and neither do they include tracking features.
Another feature that the free versions of autoresponders do not provide is the ability to send marketing emails in both plain text formats as well as in HTML formats.
All of these features are needed . . . they are even vital to email marketers.
Third . . . just writing effective marketing emails is a skill that requires much practice.
Many brand new email marketers make huge mistakes when sending out their marketing emails
and until they take the time to learn the form of an effective marketing email, they arent going to be sending effective marketing emails and they arent going to be making many sales.

Different Strokes for Different Folks in Email Marketing
Different Strokes was a television program that aired in the late 1970s and early 1980s that starred Gary Coleman, Todd Bridges, Dana Plato, and Conrad Bain. The saying, different strokes for different folks was a popular response in those years, as well, for any situation that called attention to something out of what was considered the norm.
Different strokes for different folks is also a premise that can be applied to the fine art of email marketing, too.
For example, lets say that your product is one that would be used by people who are looking for a way to work from their homes. Your mailing list might have young mothers who find it difficult to leave their small children and work outside their homes. Your list might also contain names of retired individuals who are looking for a way to supplement their retirement incomes.
Your list might also contain names of handicapped people, as well as, middle aged men who have been victims of downsizing. If you send identical marketing emails to every segment of your opt-in list, it is going to have to be pretty generic, to say the least.
Each of these distinct groups of people may well be interested in your product but each group will have a different reason for being interested in it.
Break your email list down into groups of people who would buy your products for the same reason. Categorize! You can do this very easily by simply asking your potential customers about themselves.
Without asking for specific information, in your next email communication with your list, include a questionaire that is designed to answer questions that will give you enough information to break your list into groups based on age or other criteria.
Different strokes for different folks . . . send age and situation appropriate emails to each different group.

Autoresponders Making the Right choice
All autoresponders are not created equally. There are paid for versions and there are free versions. The amount of money you pay for a service has no bearing on how good the service will be.
You simply need to be certain that the autoresponder that you choose to use will provide you with all the features that you really need in order for you to get the most out of it. Your autoresponder is, after all, your connection to your list of customers. This really isnt a place where you can safely cut corners or try to lower your expenses.
When you are deciding on the autoresponder that you will use for your email marketing business, be certain that it has all of the following features:
1. A personalization feature: This is so important! You need to have the ability to use the first names of your customers and potential customers in all email correspondence that you have with them.
Nobody wants to be, Dear Friend. The Internet provides anonymity but nobody want to be that anonymous.
2. Ability to send in either HTML or Plain Text format: You want to be able to send your messages using both formats rather than having to choose. You can let the email programs of the recipients choose which version of your email to provide to your recipient.
If you can use HTML, you can use pictures, graphics and other media that can help to sell your product or service.
3. Provide Reports: You need reports about your email marketing campaigns that can help you fine tune them and make them more and more effective.
If you dont know what happened this time, you wont know what needs to be tweaked for the next campaign.
Today I will try to post a few pictures for you to enjoy and admire.

CAN SPAM and You
SPAM got to be such a major problem for so many people in US that Congress actually had to do something about it. There was a lot of discussion (as well as just cussin) and email marketers were really afraid of what would happen to their businesses when this act was passed in 2003.
There was, however, some lead time and some email marketers set up opt-in lists to use rather than just sending out bulk unsolicited emails. It turned out that the CAN SPAM act was actually a blessing to legitimate email marketers.
The ones that got hurt were the unscrupulous ones who sent out that awful porn and sexually explicit type emails to unsuspecting recipients when the act became the law of the land in January of 2004.
Before CAN SPAM, most people would find hundreds of emails in the inboxes each and every day. The ones from their friends and families were buried somewhere in the pile of unsolicited bulk emails.
The emails from their friends and families, as well as, those from legitimate email marketers were all lumped together in one huge stack and people were far less than happy with the situation.
The law that made email marketers create opt-in lists has actually turned out to be a very good thing. The emails that are sent are sent only to those who want to get them and are most likely to act on the messages included in them.
Of course, everybody still gets at least some SPAM everyday or almost everyday.
The SPAMMERS simply change email addresses and continue to SPAM but the problem is slowly coming under control which is a real boon to all email recipients as well as to legitimate email marketers.
The penalties provided in the law are stiff and are a great deterrent to those who would like to send SPAM.

To-day I must first apologies to those who have been following the articles about email marketing. I have not posted any articles since October 1st because I had some problem with internet access. On the 2nd October my computer suddenly could not access the internet. I checked with the technical support from service provider and found that the signals from the phone line are not coming in although I could use the phone. I thought the router modem was not working and bought a new one. In the end you wont believe -the telecom people mistakenly cut off my broadband line. They restored my broadband line but I wasted 5 days not being able to do anything online. I shall now go on to the next article on email marketing.
