We wish it weren't true, but the fact of the matter is that there always have been and always will be criminals among us. Some are just petty criminals, while others commit serious crimes against their fellow human beings. Because there will always be criminals, there will always be jobs in policing, prosecution, court trials, incarceration, and probation.
There are a variety of degrees that may be earned online under the general heading of criminal justice. There are associate, bachelor, and master degrees that can be obtained by attending online universities and colleges that offer them. These various degree courses of studies can include such topics as public safety, forensic, homeland security, and paralegal. Many jobs in the criminal justice field require that those who hold them have some college education.
These criminal justice employees need to learn how to write and speak well and clearly. They must be able to solve problems, think on their feet, learn new information very quickly, and be able to work as members of a team. Some police department s will not even interview prospective new policemen unless they have at least some college education.
Of course, even with a degree in criminal justice, a prospective must still attend a police academy and meet the requirements, but without some college credits you won't have the opportunity to even get into a police academy.
Parole officers are in great demand. Parole officers must have knowledge of the rules and regulations regarding parole, of course, but they must also must be able to communicate with the parolee and with his framily and friends. The idea is to ease the away from living behind bars to living in a free society and doing so abiding by the laws that govern it.
